The Cycle of Safety

We understand that water is necessary across all walks of life. Water is required for maintaining the building environment, enabling production processes, and sustaining the people who work at, live in, or visit your premises.

But the very water and mechanical systems that cool the air, supply the faucets, fill the pools, or feed the fountains are, by their own nature, susceptible to contamination. And the water that you depend on for  everyday activities can harbor pathogens that can put your organization at risk of a health hazard.

There is a growing concern about the impact of these pathogens, and the diseases they cause, most notably from deadly Legionella bacteria that can live and flourish in improperly maintained water systems. We are very aware of these and the other issues you may be facing on a daily basis. Our pathogen analysis solutions can help you solve them. Besides the significant toll in human health from Legionellosis outbreaks, companies can potentially incur significant financial costs from:

  • Production losses
  • Impact on morale
  • Damage to brand and reputation
  • Regulatory fines
  • Litigation and increased insurance costs

We can help you address these challenges through our cost-effective solutions that will also positively impact your Total Cost of Operation.

Additionally, governmental agencies and industry regulatory bodies globally have been adopting increasingly stringent standards and guidelines that hold organizations and facility managers responsible for exercising due diligence in addressing this preventable disease.

The EHS Cycle of Safety provides facility managers with a professional, comprehensive system for management of the risk associated with Legionella. Our exclusive water management system includes four phases that ensures comprehensive treatment. Each part of our process described below plays a significant role in the overall safety of your water:

LEGIONELLA ASSESSMENT
The EHS Legionella Assessment includes a detailed examination of all systems in the facility by an experienced water system expert. This computer-aided professional analysis establishes the foundation for the development of your individual legionella management plan.

REMEDIATION
Effective disinfection goes beyond common cleaning protocol. It requires the specialized safety and process training, technical skill and support that Nalco/EHS provides through its P4 certified cleaning and disinfection service.

CONTROL
A regular control program ensures continued water quality. Secondary disinfection of domestic and other water systems can be implemented to provide ongoing protection against Legionella and other harmful pathogens.

LEGIONELLA ANALYSIS
Legionella testing of water systems provides monitoring information to assure risk reduction strategies remain effective.
