Corporate Social Responsibility

Nalco Holding Company and hundreds of other major corporations are participants in the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest corporate citizenship and social responsibility organization committed to ten principles covering human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

As part of our commitment to the Global Compact, we issue an annual Communication on Progress (COP) as our public disclosure to our stakeholders on the progress we have made in implementing the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, and in supporting broad United Nations development goals. That COP is included in our 2010 Sustainability Report.

Nalco Holding Company is one of the participants in the United Nations Global Compact who’s CEOs have made a further commit for their companies to support and advance water sustainability solutions through the CEO Water Mandate.

As part of our commitment to the CEO Water Mandate, we issue an annual Communication on Progress: Water as our public disclosure to our stakeholders to describe how we are implementing the six core elements of the Mandate. That COP is included in our 2010 Sustainability Report.

Enhancing World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) ability to deliver on water conservation by supporting WWF’s efforts to establish credible water stewardship standards through the Water Roundtable and Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS).

Nalco and the Nalco Foundation support Water For People, a non-profit international development organization supporting locally sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and health and hygiene education programs in developing nations.
