Nalco Statement on EPA's Second Round of Dispersant Test Results
Nalco issued the following statement:Nalco is pleased to see continuing scientific review and analysis of the conditions in the Gulf of Mexico relating to the oil spill. Among other things, the findings of today’s US Environmental Protection Agency’s peer reviewed report indicate:
• that dispersed oil is generally no more toxic than oil,
• that dispersants appear to increase the efficiency of natural biodegradation by 50 percent,
• there is no evidence of harm to wildlife from the dispersants used in the Gulf.
Nalco supports and looks forward to continued research in this important area.
