New Case Study: Hotel Saves 1.2 Million Gallons of Water with 3D TRASAR Technology

Treasure Island (TI) Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas looked to Nalco to help them conserve water and maintain their reputation as a good corporate citizen of the city and surrounding community. The hotel needed to ensure that their guests always enjoyed their stay, and at the same time maintained the integrity of their cooling water system.

Management of the cooling system microbial population was of great concern to the hotel, as was maintaining constant biocide concentration results in periods of under-and over-treatment. The hotel also realized that making efforts to aggressively save water was the right decision for the good of the desert community, and also made good business sense.

Through utilizing 3D TRASAR® Technology for Cooling Water, water usage decreased by 1.2 million gallons over a six-month period, resulting in annualized environmental Return on Investment of $7,200. Energy costs were also reduced by $21,000 during the trial period through enhanced microbio control and reduced electric draw from cleaner chiller tubes.
