Envirox® Chlorine Dioxide Systems

Advances in chlorine dioxide (ClO2) systems technology have driven rapid expansion in the number of applications using ClO2 successfully.

Nalco water hygiene services has been successfully selling Envirox ClO2 systems for several years, with more than 500 installations throughout Europe and the United States in hospitals, bottled water plants, breweries and manufacturing plants.

Envirox incorpates a patented electrochemical generation process for ClO2 that uses a single safe precursor (sodium chlorite) to generate the biocide. Unlike many competitive products Nalco Envirox systems use no acid on site. Not using acid gives Envirox major safety benefits in chemical handling and storage plus the reduction in the potential for local plant corrosion caused by typical acid storage systems. Using only a single precursor chemical avoids the possibility of chemical mixing and subsequent explosion risk associated with other forms of two and three precursor ClO2 generators.

1. Thermal storage loops, or any closed loop requiring biocontrol.

Our consultants recommend ClO2 as the best available technology for biocontrol in large closed loops.
