Elvira, Customer Billing and Invoice Dispute Resolution
Why did you choose Nalco, and what is your story?
I started at Nalco in 2006 March when the BSC has opened. I didn't have any experience working in a Multinational Company at that time. I had the interview through a Recruitment Company and they mentioned a lot of positive things about Nalco so I was delighted to accept the offer when it came. When the BSC was first opened, there were only 30 members in the office however the company went through amazing changes over the past years. I have been dealing with Oil Business Customers in the last 2 years which was very exciting and challenging and now I returned back to my previous role investigating Customer invoices, solving invoice non conformances.
What is the thing that you like the most in your position?
I'm in daily contact with Nalco internal and external Customers to try to solve invoice non conformances in the shortest possible period of time. I feel happy and satisfied when the issues are solved, settled and the invoices get paid by the Customers.
Why would you suggest Nalco to others?
Nalco is a strong company, it is worldwide with open positions, carrier opportunities inside and outside the Center. It is stable which is important nowadays with great colleagues and atmosphere. They offer additional benefits such as bonus and cafeteria program.
Zuard, Deal Management Team
Why did you choose Nalco?
Nalco was strongly recommended by some friends that were already working there as an attractive company with a friendly and stimulating work environment and a competitive salary/ benefits offer.
How would you summarize a typical day of yours in your current role?
We support the Sales Force in their relation with the customer and we do it by handling different kinds of inquires like Billing Arrangements /Special Price Agreements validation, renewals, price mismatch investigation and by ensuring always a proper and quick reaction.
Why would you suggest Nalco to others?
I did it already! I recommended Nalco because I really appreciate the way we work here: everything is clear, we receive regular information from our leaders and I believe that good communication is really important. We also have the possibility to develop ourselves, for example in my case I had the chance to move from the Orders Support Group to my current position.
We also have the possibility to develop our skills with trainings and language courses and I really appreciate it.
Piroska, Customer Order Support Group
Why did you choose Nalco and what is your story?
Nalco is my first workplace. After finishing my studies, when I was looking for a job, the most important features were the usage of the Dutch language/ atmosphere in the office. I came through a headhunter company where I had a long- 2 hour-long interview where we discussed the possibilities/ my plans/ my strong points /weak points/language skills. They offered me 4-5 companies but they spoke especially highly of Nalco. So I was really happy when I got through the first round and came here for an interview where I met my soon-to be supervisor and the HR colleague. I had a floor walk then and this was the first office that I actually liked. Meanwhile I had been to many other multi companies on an interview but none of them seemed to fit me. They called me back for the second round where I was offered a position in Order Support Group.
How would you summarize a typical day of yours in your current role?
I am part of the Order Support Team. I support the Dutch speaking part of the Benelux countries. We enter the orders for our customers, contact the colleagues abroad, confirm the delivery dates with both sides. We negotiate with customers if the requested delivery date is not possible or there is an unexpected delay. We serve as a single-point of contact for the Dutch sales representatives to make their life less complicated.
What is the thing that you like the most in your position?
I like being here because I can use the languages I know and it's satisfying to help my colleagues/customers in the Benelux with urgent requests or solve occurring problems.
Why would you suggest Nalco to others?
I have already suggested Nalco for one of my friends. She works here now so I could have been pretty convincing. I like my team/atmosphere in the office, the flexibility and openness of the leadership. I have made good friends here.
Andras, Business Process Analyst
Why did you choose Nalco, and what is your story?

Before Nalco I was working for a logistics company where all communications were either in Hungarian or English. As I was studying Swedish at the university I was looking for a job where I could use my language skills. Fortunately, one of my schoolmates from the university was already working here and she told me lot of nice things about the company, plus it turned out that they were looking for a Swedish speaker. I applied for the position and started here in November 2006 as a Key Account Rep for Sweden. After a while I was responsible not only for Sweden, but for Norway, Denmark and partially for UK as well. Later on I was assigned new tasks which helped me to learn more about the company, its structure, the different departments and the SAP system. Whilst I had looked at other roles, I was really pleased when my current position was advertised after I had been with the company for more than two and a half year.
As I was really motivated in finding new challenges, new tasks, I applied for this position and this time I succeeded. The first 3-4 months were really hard and demanding as I had to get familiar with Excel and Access but with hard work the transmission was seamless. Since then I have learnt a lot and work in these programs with confidence, although there is still room for improvement.
What is the thing that you like the most in your position?
First of all I would mention the diversity. Although there are reoccurring tasks, reports of course, there are also many new tasks. And every new task is a new challenge, and the way a new database is designed is absolutely up to me. With this 'freedom' I can continuously develop my knowledge in programming. Second of all, the productivity: it is always nice to create something new, work on it, program it and then use it, occasionally improve it. That's how it is with developing new databases. And last but not least, as I work in the Support team, people turn to us/me for help with a lot of different work related problems, and helping them -especially if I can- is always really nice.
Why would you suggest Nalco to others?
Employees are handled with respect. Our opinion is important to the leadership. Second of all, nice, interesting and open-minded people are working here. The work environment is also very good and the compensation and the extra benefits are, I believe, over the average. And if you work hard and have the right skills, you will be recognized.
How would you summarize a typical day of yours in your current role?
After I arrive, I do the daily routine tasks. Then I work on major tasks I receive from other departments regarding improvement of a database or creating a new one, or any kind of ad-hoc request I usually receive from the leadership team. Or if any of the databases breaks, I fix them as soon as I can.
Noemi, Customer Delivery Management Team
Why did you choose Nalco and what is your story?

My previous workplace was at the public sector, I worked with well experienced colleagues in their 50s, who could not find pleasure in their work anymore. I was longing for a more dynamic working environment, where I could make use of my language skills so a recruitment agency drew my attention to the job opportunities at this company that was the kind of fresh and dynamic place I was looking for .
How would you summarize a typical day of yours in your current role?
Our team is the main link between Nalco manufacturing plants and our field sales force and customers. My role is to partner with European plants and warehouses to initiate and maintain conversation regarding our ability to meet customer delivery expectations on an order-by-order basis and ensure that any changes to originally promised delivery dates are communicated to our sales force and customers. We are acting as logistics coordinators who are responsible for following up each case until it gets resolved.
What is the thing that you like the most in your position?
I like that I have got the tools to offer solutions to all kinds of problems that can arise regarding deliveries. It is great to be able to respond to requests about inventory and production capacity and to manage express deliveries. I can come up with various options to help out Nalco sales force and customers. I also like the good relation we have with our colleagues in the plant: I had the chance to travel there and meet them personally and this experience reinforced our mutual trust and gave me a better understating of our processes.
Why would you suggest Nalco to others?
Because it is a good place to work at, we have got excellent working conditions, competitive salary and various types of benefits. The colleagues are similar yet build a colorful branch. You can always find someone to discuss your latest journey with and in addition to this you are most likely to find someone join you for a trip if you have got no adventurous friends around. I have found precious relationships here, not only colleagues I like to spend my working hours with.
