Sales Leadership Team Participates in Hands-on Safety Training
Members of the Water and Process Services (WPS) Light Sales Leadership Team recently participated in Safety-on-Site® (SOS) Practical Hands-On training with other Key Account Managers and Sales Representatives in Naperville. The SOS Hands-on Training class is part of Nalco’s comprehensive safety training that is required by all field personnel. It is offered at various Nalco locations. The class focuses on classroom and field evaluations for Confined Space, Lock-Out Tag-Out and Working from Heights.
During the morning of the training, Erik Fyrwald, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, addressed the group, challenging the participants to carry a safety-first mindset.
Ken Yankowski, Strategic Business Manager, said the training provides a sound foundation for employees to pass on the knowledge and skills they've learned.
"This is a great opportunity for Nalco to share its safety expertise with customers, which enhances our offering while creating a safer working environment for them,” Yankowski said.
Jim Gage, Marketing Manager, said customers expect Nalco to perform every job safely.
"The commitment to safety underscores our professionalism and intent with every client," Gage commented. “The key to building a safe culture is to elevate everyone’s awareness. When I'm on field rides, the best thing I can do is engage representatives on safety and ask them about specific hazards they encounter while on the job. Reminding field personnel of this attitude keeps everyone focused on safety.”
Brent Richards, Regional Sales Manager, said safety is the number one priority. "As leaders we must continually emphasize this in our messages and actions when we travel in the field,” he said.
