Nalco additives for production of fertilizer

Nalco's wide range of corrosion inhibitor products and PERFLOW® anti-caking agents are widely used throughout the global fertilizer industry, and continue to deliver maximum performance and cost savings to our customers.

Nalco's CORROGARD® and NITROSOLVE® corrosion inhibitors for urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) liquid fertilizers offer a high level of corrosion protection at relatively low dosages. For many years now, CORROGARD and NITROSOLVE have been used to protect metal surfaces throughout the UAN distribution chain. Nalco corrosion inhibitors are fed to the UAN liquid fertilizer during its manufacturing process, and provides a number of benefits, including:

Nalco corrosion inhibitor products are available with our patented TRASAR® technology. TRASAR enables rapid and easy quantification of dosage levels within seconds, using portable, hand-held instrumentation. Among the key benefits of this superior technology are:

Potential to regulate inhibitor feed equipment, ensuring the proper amount of inhibitor is dosed under fluctuating process conditions

Nalco also offers a range of PERFLOW anti-caking agents for urea production. These are water-based products that are applied by spray nozzles to the urea product. PERFLOW anti-caking agents can significantly reduce caking tendency under a variety of climatic and operating conditions.

As with CORROGARD and NITROSOLVE inhibitors, the water-based PERFLOW products can also be supplied with TRASAR fluorescent technology. It also enables quick quantification of PERFLOW dosage level by simply dissolving a known quantity of urea in a known quantity of water and measuring its fluorescence

PERFLOW anti-caking agents are also available for AN, CAN and NPK production. The products for these applications are oil or wax-based and are in a solid form at ambient temperature. These products are heated to liquefy, and then applied by spraying using dosing-pumps and spraying nozzles. PERFLOW anti-caking agents are designed to keep caking and dust problems to a minimum under fluctuating storage conditions. These products can usually fully replace the commonly used two-step treatment (oil/powder) or at least replace the oil and significantly reduce the amount of powder.
