Nalco polymers have been developed to enhance the performance
of typical non-polymer shell systems. Addition of Nalco polymers will help
increase green strength, shorten drying cycles, improve slurry rheology and increase
prime coat adhesion.
Nalco Latrix® 6300 is a moderately stiff
polymer that creates Newtonian fluid characteristics in the slurry. This polymer will produce
shells that have high strength with superior surface detail. Nalco 6300 will provide better
fluidity with Zircon primes. This polymer is a very good choice for back up coat strength.
Nalco Latrix® 6305 is an all-purpose soft
flexible polymer that provides great adhesion while creating thixotropic slurry characteristics.
The mildly thixotropic slurry properties are well suited for drainage sensitive parts and easier
to optimize for robot systems. Shells manufactured with this polymer have high strength and will
build thickness quicker. This polymer has very good rheology for prime coat systems.
Nalco Gray Matter polymer is the most recent addition to the polymer list.
This polymer was developed specifically for the Gray Matter system that includes colloidal
silica, proprietary refractory blend and polymer. Gray Matter polymer is a soft flexible
polymer with great adhesion and exhibits Newtonian fluid.
